NEW July 20110
HLTA/ funding
You will be aware that the new coalition government have made a number of cuts in education which have affected grants/budgets/funding that come into the Local Authority.
HLTA will no longer be funded by the TDA. Training might continue but we are in discussions at the moment to see how this will take shape and what cost schools or individual candidates would incur. HLTA applications that have been completed for the autumn 2010 term training will be kept on file. Schools will be updated as soon as the LA know how to move forward
Support staff who want a professional qualification i.e. NVQ L3 etc can still access these through Middlesbrough College and Middlesbrough Adult Education but again the LA is unable to offer funding, the schools or individual candidates will now incur the costs.
I am available to offer guidance and support on CPD but please be aware that there is currently no central funding to support activities as in the past.

NEW July 2010 NVQ Funding
Train to Gain funding is available through Middlesbrough College to support learners to achieve NVQ qualifications, particularly where they are working towards a first level 2 or first level 3 qualification. The best advice is for learners to contact the College and to speak to either Christina Selmi or Cath Cooke.

Support Staff/Teachers
Are you running a garden club, do you work on projects with pupils on food, planting seeds, does your school have chickens etc then the following support is fully funded by Food for life Partnership.
All schools in England can join the Food for Life Partnership FREE
They offer an action framework and award scheme to help schools and their communities transform their food culture.
Using practical food education, young people in your school will learn all about food - plus they help caterers to serve up fresh, local, organic and seasonal school meals.
