CAF Panels

There are four Children and Young Peoples Support Panels (CYPSPs) in Middlesbrough. They meet fortnightly to offer support to children/young people who have been assessed as having additional needs through the Common Assessment Framework

The Panels listen to the details of the CAF assessment, presented by the person responsible for the completion of the assessment in partnership with the parent/child/young person. All Panel members are able to commit their service to providing the support agreed by the Panel.

Parents, children and young people are encouraged and supported to attend the Panel meetings if they wish to do so.

A multi-agency Support Plan is then agreed by the Panel and written up. A Lead Practitioner is agreed, who will co-ordinate the agreed support and make sure that it does take place and act as a link with the family.

A date is agreed when the Support Plan will be reviewed and any necessary changes made.
