Special Educational Needs Policy and a Guide for Parents.

The Council's Policy "Meeting Special Educational Needs in Middlesbrough", outlines the Council's approach for ensuring that a child's special educational needs are identified, assessed and supported through a graduated and systematic response. The Policy covers working in partnership to meet SEN,  Local Authority support for schools, The SEN Code of Practice, provision for pupils with SEN and funding arrangements.

Equality Act 2010

In order to meet statutory duties as detailed in the Equality Act 2010, all schools are required to have a single equality  scheme which covers action plans for Race, Gender and Disability Equality, and Community Cohesion.

The document must include a scheme which embraces a Race Equality Scheme, a Gender Equality Scheme, a Disability Equality Scheme and the school’s Equality Policy and commitment towards Community Cohesion.
