Parent Partnership Service

Middlesbrough Parent Partnership Service provides free, impartial and confidential advice to parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs living in the Middlesbrough area. We aim to enable parents and carers to make informed decisions about their child's education.

It is very important that you are invovled in your child's education. 

Middlesbrough Parent Partnership Service aims to support you in building and maintaining positive relationships with your child's school and the Local Education Authority, so that you feel empowered and fully informed.

The Parent Partnership Service can provide help and support in the following ways:

Telephone Advice 

Ring the service if you require help or advice regarding your child's special educational needs 01642 201872 (Monday - Friday)


Appointments Service

We can arrange to visit you at home, at our office or at your child's school if you wish to discuss your concerns face to face.


Information & Signposting

We have access to a wide range of information on all aspects of special educational needs.  We can also put you in touch with voluntary groups, charities and other support networks who may be able to offer further or more specific assisstance.


Advocacy

If you wish we can attend any meetings or appointments with you.  We can also contact your child's school on your behalf, speak to the local education authority and help you write letters.


Translation & Interpretation Service 

We can arrange for any documentation you have been sent regarding your child's education to be translated and also for an interpreter to be present at any meeting you attend.  We can also arrange for documentation to be converted into Braille or audio form or for a signer to be present if required.


Disagreement Resolution Service & Mediation

We can offer professional, independent mediation to help you resolve disagreements you may have with your child's school or the Local Authority.
