Salix Fund
The Council has a joint investment fund with Salix in the sum of £400,000. The fund looks to invest in energy efficiency initiatives, which have a maximum payback period of 5 years. Successful applicants are required to reimburse each year the annual savings over the initial payback period; thereafter applicants can retain the energy savings. This allows Schools to invest in energy efficiency schemes without having to commit capital up front and then repay the investment over a period of time from the devised savings.
