Youth Opportunity Fund

Do U Need Money!!!!

... Yes

Well here is the answer.  The Government (& Council) wants young people to have more opportunity to take part in activities or participate in anything that appeals to young people and helps them make a difference.
So they have set up a fund that holds up to £125,750 for young people to spend that live in these four areas of Middlesbrough:

  • Central
  • West
  • East
  • South
The Youth Opportunity panels, which are made up of young people that live in the Middlesbrough area, have control of everything about the fund from whom the money goes to i.e. Young people, to how much is given.

All that the Government asks is that the money wanted by young people falls in the Every Child Matters criteria and that young people approve the application. The Every Child Matters criteria is:

  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve Economic Well-being
The following are things that young people can apply for:
  • Transport and Travel Costs
  • Education and Training
  • Safety and Protection
  • Sport, leisure and recreation
  • Personal development
  • Health
The maximum amount that can be given to an individual is £1000 and the maximum that can be given to a group is £5000. And you can apply more than once!
